A contemporary twist on a legendary classic: electro-pop remake of Mohammed Abdel Wahhab's 'Ya Mesafer Wahdak' (1942).

Paying homage to both Abdel Wahhab's original, and to pioneers of the Arabic indie electro trip-hop bands (like Soapkills), this remake takes its cue from Abdel Wahhab's approach to composition (i.e one of the first to blend Arabic and Western music - something I aspire to in my original releases), we produced it the way we imagined it: mixing EDM bass inspired drops, distortion FX with softly blended orchestral choir harmonies, while preserving the original classic melodies.

The song has always evoked a deep-seated feeling of loneliness for me, the kind that comes with missing something - a loved one, a country, a memory, a future vision, or even yourself - so finding my way of singing it came very naturally. (If you listen to my songs this will make sense).
